Townee is based in the San Francisco East Bay area and features raw indie rock storytelling stitched with pop hooks. The songs are imperfect human reflections on life, no AI or Autotune. Songwriter Tony Venuto is the main vocalist and guitar player, Tim Lefebvre carries the groove on bass and Tori Elliott supplies the harmonies. Drummers include Victor Indrizzo (on 'Walls Crashing' and 'City and Sand'), Gary Novak (on 'Imperflections') and Eyal Satat (on '20 Years').
The name Townee is a phonetic way of spelling Tony, but also can be:
- an urban city dweller who is out of place in the countryside
- a local resident who is not affiliated with the local university
- a resident of Oakland, called “the Town” by locals
Committed to releasing a track every 8 weeks and an album every calendar year, Townee is always changing and growing. Find out what comes next by following on Instagram, YouTube, Bandcamp or your streamer of choice.
